Less two. It's time to ask why we do it?

Here we are, just over a missing opening day, Friday afternoon, the gates of Jazz: Re: Found 2010. The emotion is so great, at least the ambition to really get going, the third edition of this festival. The ambition to finally get to the highest peak, with an international lineup of European festivals, the confidence of major sponsors and institutions and the belief that they are building something great, but really great.

And in these days of fatigue, even when all physical, according to their capacities and capabilities, we provide next to the professionals to make their contribution, is the most important question: why do we do? Why spend a lot, but really a lot of mental energy, physical and economic reforms in an event that basically no one has asked us to do?

And the answer came at this very hour, unloading trucks, moving fences, raising structures under the June sun. Surely we do not do for an economic return (hahaha, this beautiful, a return ... maybe!) It beautiful for us, to follow it so that some young hipster. It was only natural that the professionalism and skills of a group of people, often untapped capacity in the daily life of the province, explode into something great.

Well, this is the best answer. Jazz Re: Found why there had to exist, is a reflection of some of the best young minds that our city has ever given birth. I am writing this without false modesty, but it had to happen sooner or later that putting together a group of young men and women - each an expert in music, graphic design, event organization, marketing, web, etccetera - and with energy and enthusiasm to sell , all that potential subsided and that energy would find an outlet. An incredible synergy, a mix of professionalism and passion as you see them rarely.

And then there's the music, the music we love and listen to some of our favorite artists we are proud to offer a wide audience. And the audience eagerly awaiting the event and urges us with questions and compliments. And friends scattered in different corners of Italy and the world, who meet and return to the place where they were born for the Jazz: Re: Found, almost like a second Christmas.

Well, that's why we do it. For you. It does not seem much on the whole, but for us all. Meanwhile, the village grows, it will be over tomorrow night, ready to go. It will be an event, do not miss it. Take care, and good nite.
